Welcome to Class + Logos

Thinking About Yourself as an Artist

Before you can begin to design a logo for yourself, you need to consider what your personal branding is.

Some Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Do I want to use my own name (John Smith),   a pseudonym/nickname (Ghost Shrimp), or a brand name (Cartoon network)?
  2. What is my artistic style? If your not sure yet think of artists who inspire you and try to describe their styles.
  3. What are you trying to say about yourself and your art with your logo? Consider color, texture, style, etc.

Ideating

Once you have an idea of your personal branding it's time to start thinking of logo designs. If you're going for a hand drawn or illustrated style pick up an Ipad and begin sketching  or if you're going for a sleek and modern design open up Canva.

Try to come up with at least 3 rough ideas  and then we can decide which design suits your needs best.

Things to keep in Mind

It's important to understand the core principles of design before you try to bend the rules. Try to incorporate  a few of these principles into each of your designs to  see what works for you.

The artfulness of the template was callin my name like a siren.the star template was gorgeous the glitch effect was glitching my mind. My soul was being called by them so I knew I had to use them.
