Now that you've decided what you want to make it's time to figure out what it's going to take to bring your idea to life.
Step #1: Find what/who inspires you
Create a list of other artists or artworks that inspire you. Then go through your list and pick out a few elements from each item on your list that you find yourself particularly drawn to.
For example you could really resonate with one artist's use of color and another artists use of texture. Picking out elements of artwork in this way can help you begin to establish your own style and taste.
Step #2: List everything that will go into the final presentation of your project.
All of our projects are going to be a lot more than just 1 drawing. Try to estimate how many drawings, shots, designs, etc. will go into your finished project. Also consider things like text for descriptions, scripts, music, and so much more.
Step #3: What tools/materials and skills do you need to complete your vision?
Tools and materials covers everything that you could possibly need at any point throughout your project. Will you be working on an Ipad or a computer, or both? What programs will you use on the device that you select? Photo editing, video editing, illustration programs and more are all available to you.
Have a program or software you're interested in trying out? Ask me and I will see what I can do.

Also consider what skills you personally need to learn. Figure drawing, animation, 3d modeling, copy writing, and graphic design are all things that might pop up in a lot of your projects.
Step #4: Your Budget
At the end of the school year I would like to be able to hand everybody some sort of physical version of your work. This can be stickers, prints, a book, business cards, and so much more.
Try to think of what physical product you could make or that you could put your work on and then try to estimate the cost of those things.
The hope is at the end of the year we will attend an art mart and you will have the opportunity to sell your work!
